A smaller release after the big 6.0 line. It brings a new page type for your own online tools, an extended AI connector and a long list of fixes reported by users — from e-mail signatures through colours in animations to the resizing of uploaded photos.

Custom online tool — a new page type

Do you have your own web tool — a calculator, a banner generator, a colour converter? You can now place it straight into your manual as its own page.

• You upload an HTML file along with its supporting files (styles, scripts, images) and the tool fills the whole page.
• The tool runs in isolation — it cannot reach the manual's content or the signed-in user.
• Tool files get their own tab and icon in the file manager, so they don't get mixed up with the manual's content (and they don't show up in Alt texts either).
• The page can be set so the tool opens in a new window — every link respects it: cards, navigation, search and the latest changes overview.
• The tool is included in the static export, so it works in the offline version of the manual as well.
• An empty page greets you with a short guide on what to upload.

AI connector (MCP)

• A connector for a single brand — on a multibrand manual every sub-brand has its own public connector, so an assistant connected for one brand cannot see the others. The card with the instructions sits on that brand's page, while the card for the whole manual stays on the home page. In the admin (Settings → MCP) you switch between them with a dropdown.
• Nine AI tools instead of six — claude.ai (which also covers the mobile app), Gemini CLI and a generic guide for other tools have been added.
• Connecting without installing anything — every guide now points straight at the connector address, Node.js is no longer needed.
• The guide for each tool is available in all six languages (previously Czech and English only).
• Faster work with files — uploads and downloads go through a link instead of being encoded into text. Larger files get through and it is noticeably quicker.
• When approving access, the assistant suggests which tools are a good fit for larger bulk edits.

Editing and admin

• E-mail signature — the „HTML code“ module is now named after what it actually does, and a new module already contains a sample signature with the fields your manual's readers will edit marked up. You just replace the content.
• Copy link — files in the e-mail signature got a button that copies a permanent link to the file. You no longer have to dig for it in the file detail.
• A colour card for two colours — when a brand has only two colours, the card on the home page renders two elements instead of three (the third used to be an empty grey one). It applies to every variant, animated ones included.
• Add cards to a hub in bulk — in the cards module you select several target pages at once and each one becomes its own card. Until now a separate row had to be created for every card.
• The page type picker shows icons, so you can tell at a glance what you are creating. The „Add“ button is now highlighted in colour, and in the module picker the header stays put — only the tiles scroll.
• User management for the Manager role — a manager can change a user's name, e-mail, language and role (the password stays with the account owner).
• The sign-in e-mail states the address of the manual the code came from. If you manage several Visualbooks, you can tell at a glance where you are signing in.
• Dark mode — error and warning messages in the admin are readable.
• The trial expiry message now explicitly says that your edits stay saved and that you can pick up where you left off after activation.

Fixes

• The e-mail signature rendered as source code — after pasting HTML into the field, characters such as < and backslashes in front of asterisks showed up in the signature. The pasted code is now stored exactly as you pasted it, indentation included.
• The short colour notation (#000 instead of #000000) only worked in some places — it was most visible in the „Blending circles“ animation, which stayed the default blue. The short notation is now resolved correctly everywhere: animations, colour gradients, swatches, paper formats, the carousel and sharing preview images.
• Formatting in tables — bold text and links entered in the admin are rendered on the site instead of showing up as markup.
• Uploaded photos were not resized to the configured 1920 px and stayed unnecessarily large.
• Broken pages after an image upload — in rare cases an upload left behind a residual file that made a page „lose“ its type: the admin reported a missing blueprint and the sections disappeared from the site. The leftovers are now cleaned up automatically, including after a file is deleted.
• Renaming a page — after a change of title or address, the link in the parent page listing could lead to a page that no longer existed.
• Moving top-level pages ended with an error, and the confirmation of a successful move was getting lost.
• Alt texts — fixed bulk import and automatic translation through DeepL.
• The file overview showed up empty in some cases.
• Cards of locked pages — the animated preview (Lottie) on a hub stayed blank.
• Cards of pages without their own image rendered a placeholder animation instead of the chosen image.
• The Typography module no longer requires a font file when the preview is an image or an animation.
• The site check no longer reports a logo page as „without content“ when only the logos themselves are filled in and the optional usage rules are not.
• The text editor — the toolbar shows the icons for the code block and the horizontal rule again.

Security

The Kirby core has been updated to 5.6.0.
